After the unfortunate skiing accident that took the life of Hima Maher, Riegel once again has had to reinvent itself. With input from Roland Riegel, the new owner of Riegel Tuning, Ted Rozsa, made the decision to refocus on providing complete maintenance programs for Calgary’s growing European car owner population.

Building on the knowledge and experience of long time Riegel technicians, Imre Pipo and Casey Conner, we recruited a Mercedes Benz trained specialist from the U.K., Alistair Leckie, added a 30 year veteran Service Manager, Alec Thurston, and completed a major renovation to and upgrade of the facility and equipment.

With this core team in place working in a spacious and well equipped shop, we are now able to provide dealership level warranty maintenance, service and repair of a broad spectrum of European cars.

We have branded this operation Riegel European Auto Care and have introduced a stylized logo intended to convey this new image.

Recognizing that many of our customers are looking for performance enhancement of their vehicle and are more knowledgeable and have broad access to Internet-based information, we decided to focus on what we have termed Engineered Performance Enhancement.

Aftermarket automotive engineering companies are spending millions of dollars developing total performance solutions specific to Porsche, Audi, Mercedes and other makes. Rather than attempt to duplicate that work on a small scale, we are offering complete, turnkey conversions developed by Evolution Motorsports, STaSIS Engineering and Brabus for you Porsche, Audi or Mercedes Benz.

We are qualified to install any of the complete packages or individual components from any of these companies and provide for their ongoing maintenance with knowledge and understanding of their special requirements.

Recognizing that our core businesses were complimentary, Tunerworks and Riegel formed a joint venture company equipped and staffed to provide complete installation services, custom tuning and maintenance of your personal high performance street and track cars.

Building on Riegel’s long-term experience working with Porsches, we recruited two experienced certified technicians to bring their knowledge of a broad range of European, Asian and North American performance cars to our operation.

Jesse Widney, a certified technician with over 8 years experience in both independent shops and dealerships, brings his passion for motorsports as a professional drift racer and his attention to detail in prepping and tuning to the new team.

James Folk is well known in Calgary as a performance-oriented automotive technician. Over his 20+ years working in various shops, including Riegel Tuning, Jamie has developed a vast base of knowledge of what it takes to install and tune high performance components.

Casey Connor, Riegel’s Shop Foreman, has taken on the role of managing this team and working with the sales staff of Tunerworks and their customers to schedule and coordinate custom installations.

Now, a customer of Tunerworks Performance is able to consult with the experts there to select performance parts for their car, obtain an installation estimate and then work directly with Casey to schedule the installation appointment.

And the real advantage is that there is no handoff between the two companies. Tunerworks and Riegel work together transparently so our customers do not have to be concerned about who to talk to, whether it be for information or to discuss an issue.
